Boone Elementary

This year we will be learning through a tried and true reading program called Balanced Literacy. In Balanced Literacy, students are fitted with “just right” books that are aligned with each student’s personal reading level. Students are then instructed using reading and comprehension strategies to push them to mastery. For Math, we will be learning while using technology enriched games and manipulatives and setting benchmarks and goals for skill mastery.

The climate and culture of the learning environment plays a very crucial role in the educational process. Please be respectful of the classroom environment by making an appointment with the teacher, at least a day in advance, if you would like to visit the classroom. And please remember that teachers are not available to meet with you or discuss student progress during instructional times. If you need to meet with a teacher, please make arrangements for before or after school, or during a teacher’s plan time.

It is important for our students to get every possible learning opportunity and remain focused during their structured learning blocks. Providing a well-rounded curriculum, quality teachers and a positive, structured learning environment is only effective if parents and educators work together to reinforce student learning. With your help at home, together we will ensure each one of our students will become confident, well rounded learners.
Thank you for your support to make Boone Elementary successful!
