Annual Leave /Certified Personnel All certified personnel are allowed a minimum of ten and a maximum of twelve full days of paid short-term leave each year. Two days of personal leave, with no cash value attached will be granted to each employee. Unused personal leave will be carried forward up to a maximum of three personal leave days. When added to the two days allowed annually for this purpose, an employee may use a maximum of five personal leave days in any contract year. When a maximum of five personal leave days have been accumulated, no additional personal leave days will accrue; however, employees will continue to earn short-term leave each year.
When a certified employee leaves Center School District #58, regardless of cause or reason, he/she, or his/her beneficiary in the case of death, shall be paid $35.00 per day for the unused days of leave. An employee will not receive compensation for unused days of leave unless he/she has been employed by the district for at least one year.
Single Coverage Hospitalization, Medical, Dental, and Life Insurance is provided by the district for all employees regularly scheduled thirty hours or more per week.
Workers Compensation/Unemployment Insurance/Liability Insurance is provided by the district for all eligible employees.

Payroll Deduction Employees of Center School District #58 may elect payroll deduction for: increasing single hospitalization and medical coverage to a family plan, salary protection insurance, annuity (Federal Income Tax Sheltered Program), life insurance, professional dues, dental family plan, vision insurance, and the United Way Fund.

Certified employees contribute 14.5 percent of their salary to this system. The Board of Education matches these funds. If employees discontinue their teaching careers in Missouri. They may withdraw those funds which they contributed. An option is also available to buy into the system for teaching experience from other states and retirement systems.
