The annual Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olympics was held Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Longview Lake.  Center School District participated with a team of 23 jumpers, and increase from last year's team of 6.  This allowed Center to have its very own heat!  While final results are still being tallied, we anticipate the Center Polar Bears contributing almost $4,000 to support Special Olympics.   Our thanks and hats off to the brave souls who braved 30 degree lake water and below 30 degree outside temperatures on Satruday.  They were: Board members, Merrell Bennekin and Greg Westfall, Staff members, Dave Leone, Juana Hishaw, Brad Sweeten, Sharon Nibbelink, Beth Heide, Jimmie Lillard, Sharon Ahuna, Missy Wilt, Dorothy Page, Dorothea Bradley, Mary Worth and Danielle Justus;  Students, Marissa Williams, Rachel Turner, Shelby Cox, Jissel Reyes and Emily Howery;  friends and family of Center, Nick Leone, Eric Leone, Scott Smith, and Christopher Bumpus.
