Summer School Program
Dear Center School District Community,
For the Summer of 2021, the Center School District will offer a variety of options to students. Elementary students who are recommended by their 2020-2021 classroom teachers will receive in-person instruction during the month of June. In July, all elementary students will have the option to request enrollment in virtual enrichment opportunities. These virtual courses will be completed at home through Launch, an on-line learning platform.
For middle school students who did not pass all the courses required for promotion to the next grade level, and for high school students who need credit recovery due to failing one or more courses, in-person opportunities for support will be provided at CMS. Secondary students will be engaged in learning through the online Launch platform. However, a Center School District teacher will be in the classroom to help aid and support the on-line instruction. Enrichment opportunities are also available for our 6th-12th grade students thanks to the IDEA Space KC.
Extended School Year (ESY) Center will offer individualized in-person learning sessions for all ESY eligible students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Transportation will be available for the in-person learning opportunities, and breakfast and lunch will be provided. Summer Transportation stops and schedules will be posted on the CSD website on or before June 1, 2021. COVID-19 health and safety processes and procedures will continue to be enforced and followed.
Families need to confirm enrollment for Summer Programs by May, 14, 2021 to ensure a spot is available. For elementary enrichment opportunities, the deadline is May 18, 2021.
