YELC Enrollment Information

Yellowjacket Early Learning Center serves children ages 3-5 years old with preference given to children who plan to attend kindergarten the following year. Children will attend YELC based on one or more of the following funding sources:

Early Childhood Special Education Slots
- For children with an Individual Education Plan, (IEP)
- Parents who have concerns about their child’s development may call 816-349-3703.
- Half-day peer model slots are available. If interested, click here.
Head Start Slots
- For families who meet Head Start federal income guidelines please call 816-841-3382 or go to www.marcheadstart.org to schedule and complete the Head Start application intake process.
Tuition Based Slots
- Tuition Based Pre-K slots for families who do not meet Head Start guidelines may become available for the 2026-2027 school year.

Important to note, all YELC students will be required to complete the District registration and enrollment requirements which will begin July 1, 2026. Families completing this form should expect to hear from YELC staff within two weeks from completion of the form.
