The Center High School (CHS) and Center Middle School (CMS) start and end times are changing next school year. Beginning August 2025, Center High School will start at 7:45 am and end at 2:45 pm, which is 20 minutes earlier than this year. Center Middle School will start at 7:20 am and end at 2:20 pm, which is 5 minutes earlier.
Center Academy for Success (CAS) start and end times will not change next school year. CAS starts at 8 am and ends at 3 pm.
Center School District elementary school start and end times will not change next school year. Our elementary schools start at 8:45 am and end at 3:45 pm.
Yellowjacket Early Learning Center (YELC) start and end times will not change next school year. YELC starts at 8 am and ends at 3 pm.
Why did we make this change?
To reduce the amount of instructional time lost for students who participate in after school activities
To encourage more participation in after school activities
To align with our partner schools
To offer more flexibility for after school work opportunities
To make medical appointments more convenient for families

YELC: 7:50 am & 3 pm
Elementary Schools: 8:30 am & 3:45 pm
CMS: 7 am & 2:20 pm
CAS: 7:50 am & 3 pm
CHS: 7:25 am & 2:45 pm

Will early dismissal times change?
No, early dismissal times will not change.
Parent, staff, and student surveys showed that the large majority of our community supports this change, and the Board of Education approved the change at the Monday, May 12, 2025 meeting. Thank you for your engagement and support of this positive change for our students!
