Center Middle School (CMS) students had a special opportunity to meet #1 New York Times bestselling author Lindsay Currie, known for her spooky mysteries and suspenseful stories for young readers.
Currie shared her writing process, the inspiration behind her books, and talked about her newest series, The Secret Bookstore Sleuth Society. Students were excited to meet the author and asked thoughtful questions about her stories and where she finds her ideas.
Currie shared that inspiration can come from unexpected places. She also encouraged students to recognize that stories can be inspired by the people around them. "Every time I do a school visit, I'm watching out to see who's going to be in my next book," Currie said.
Students had the opportunity to choose one of six of Currie's books to take home with them. The event was a wonderful opportunity to connect students with a successful author, encourage their love of reading, and inspire them to explore their own creativity.
