Center School District is proud to introduce Kendall Waller (pictured left) and Jasper Saper (pictured right) as our 2025-26 Student Board Representatives. Saper is a sophomore and Waller is a senior at Center High School. The Student Board Representative role is a new addition to the Board of Education meetings, and the representatives were stand outs among an impressive group of Center High School applicants.
Saper and Waller addressed the Board of Education at the Monday, September 22, 2025 meeting, sharing that they are passionate advocates for their fellow CHS students. Their vision is to bring the voices of students to the board and to share feedback about the decisions that affect them.
In preparation for the meeting, Waller interviewed students and teachers about the good and bad aspects of the district. He reported general agreement that the good thing about our district is the people, and he called for improved communication between administration, staff, students, and parents. Waller said, “if there is a crack in the communication, then that affects the entire architecture of trust.”
Saper shared that the National School Walkout was a significant recent event at the high school. He said that as students, “we are tired of gun violence and dissatisfied with how the Missouri State government is handling gun violence. We as students are tired of recurring actions of violence against schools. It should be a given that gun violence should not be occurring in schools.”
Center School District values student voices, and we believe that listening to student feedback will create positive change for our district. Our Student Board Representatives will play an important role in making sure student perspectives are part of decisions that shape the future of our district.
