Summer School Program
Dear Center School District Community,
For the Summer of 2023, the Center School District will offer a variety of options to students. Elementary students who are recommended for Summer School will receive in-person instruction during four weeks of June at Boone Elementary. Center School District Teachers will provide instruction for summer school students. Parents/Guardians of recommended elementary students will receive a letter from their child’s school principal. The enrollment deadline will be April 28, 2023.
Middle school students who did not pass all core content courses, and for high school students who need credit recovery due to failing one or more courses, in-person opportunities for support will be provided at Center High School. Secondary students will be engaged in learning through the online Launch platform. However, a Center School District teacher will be in the classroom to help aid and support the on-line instruction. Parents/Guardians of recommended secondary students will receive a letter from their child’s counselor. The enrollment deadline will be April 28, 2023.
Extended School Year (ESY) will be offered to eligible students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) at Yellowjacket Early Learning Center, Boone Elementary, and Center High School (CMS students will attend ESY at CHS). Center Parents/Guardians of eligible students will be contacted directly by their IEP case manager regarding eligibility and services. The IEP case manager will provide the enrollment form. The enrollment deadline will be May 8, 2023.
Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided to all students recommended for Summer School. Summer transportation bus stops and schedules will be available on or before June 2, 2023. If you have questions regarding why your child was recommended to attend Center School District’s Summer School Program, please contact your child’s principal.
