Third grade teacher Jessica Swete was recognized by the Educator Academy and KSHB 41 with the One Class at a Time award. Ms. Swete (pronounced ‘sweet’) has been teaching for 10 years and this is her first year at Boone Elementary.
Ms. Swete was eligible for the award as a graduate of the Educator Academy, where she completed her teacher certification.
A grandparent submitted the nomination for the award. They said, "Ms Swete doesn't need to turn into Ms Sour very often. The way she speaks to her students is truly remarkable. They know she cares. She goes over and beyond to help them be successful. Her patience and overwhelming enthusiasm is highly infectious. She is so deserving of this award."
KSHB 41 partners with The Educator Academy for the One Class at a Time award. One Class at a Time aims to recognize these special teachers and award them funds to help further enrich the learning experience in their classrooms. Awardees receive a $500 gift card with the award.
