Inclement Weather Information

School Bus Covered in Snow

Inclement weather has the potential to disrupt the normal district operations and activities. Examples include snow, ice, severe cold, or flooding.  As we approach the winter months, we want to remind you of our Inclement Weather Plan and Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) virtual learning day plan.

District leaders will make every effort to decide by 5:30 am if students will have an inclement weather day and/or AMI day. Once the decision is made, we will notify staff and parents via text, email, the website, Facebook, and local news. We use the email and phone number that you provided us during registration for emergency notifications.

We will only post the messages above for a cancellation or delayed start. If there is no message, school will be held as usual. If your contact information has changed since enrollment, please provide the updated contact information to your school. We will also send out a test message. If you do not receive it, please get in touch with your child’s school.

During the school day: If a significant weather event occurs while school is in session, administrators will make the best-informed decision and determine if an early release is necessary. Decisions to release early will happen before 11 am.

Inclement Weather Plan

The 2025-26 academic calendar includes two inclement weather make up days (March 19 and April 24) and 6 AMI virtual learning days. The first inclement weather day will be a traditional school closure day, not an AMI virtual learning day.
