Graduation 2022

Class of 2022’s Commencement!

168 Center School District Students officially graduated on Thursday, May 19 at the Church of the Resurrection.

Students from Center High School and Center Academy for Success participated in the commencement.

The Yellowjacket Mighty Marching Band played “Flight of the Thunderbird” and the CHS Choral Department sang, “For Good” a song from the musical Wicked. The lyrics were a touching tribute to students; “Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.”

Three students spoke at Graduation. They were chosen after submitting their reflections to a panel of staff members. Laci Flag shared, “my voice and the words that come out of my mouth have power. What I say, what I do, and how we react can create the utmost damage or build me up to the highest of heights.”

Maddison Cunningham also spoke and shared, that being able to overcome the obstacles set before us made us into better people all  together. We are young adults now, ready for the world we have right in front of our eyes.”

CHS Senior Class President, Joey Tejada spoke last. Joey said, “thank you to the class of twenty-twenty-two. For the good, the bad, and the ugly. I am proud of us all. Proud of what we have become and proud of our future that begins today. It is time to cross over. It is time to officially become the class of twenty-twenty-two.”

Thirty-two students were recognized as 13-year Center School District students. This honor means the students joined CSD as kindergartners. It’s a great way to recognize students who spent their entire academic career with CSD teachers and staff supporting them.

The students also had the opportunity to thank staff members before the ceremony in a receiving line. It’s a CSD tradition to allow staff and students to connect one more time before students officially cross the stage and graduate.

Congratulations Class of 2022!
