Check Please

For the first time since 2019, the Center High School Drama Department will produce a live, in-person play in Garrison Auditorium!

Opening the 2022-23 school year season will be a production of “Check Please”, written by Jonathan Rand. Featuring a cast of 20 students and starring Grace Jackson and Brenna Bridge, “Check Please” follows the trials and tribulations of two people at separate tables in the same restaurant, experiencing blind dates that are utter failures. Will they ever find happiness? Could they possibly belong together? You can get the answers only by attending “Check Please” at Center High School on November 18th or 19th at 7pm or on November 20th at 2pm.

From the perspective of the actors, this is a really fun play to perform. The various people who show up for their blind dates are a goofy lot, with plenty of hilarious mannerisms and quirky behaviors. Each of the actors are able to find some aspect of their own personality that is similar and the goal, as directed by CHS drama teacher Emily Bridges, is to take it to the next level of outrageousness. The comedy gives the actors and the audience a welcome break from the realities of life, even if just for a short hour.

Since this is the first live and in-person performance since the pandemic, the cast does feel the pressure to make sure everything is first-class. They expect that their hard work and preparation will enable them to deliver a wonderful, entertaining performance come opening night! Tickets are on sale now at a price of $5 and can be purchased online (https://www.showtix4u.com/event-details/68940) or in cash at the door. CHS staff and students get in for free! Profits from the performance will support the CHS Drama Department as they prepare for their spring 2023 musical, The Wizard of Oz.
