Due to excessive heat this week, the Center High School football game this Friday night is being moved back to 8:00pm. The location of the game is Yellowjacket Stadium at Center High School and the opponent is St. Joe Lafayette. As a reminder, Center is moving to online ticketing for all sports activities this year. You must buy your tickets in advance and show them on your phone for admission. Here's the pricing: Tickets are required for all games, all sports Football - $7.00 Other sports - $5.00 Non-Center students and Senior Citizens - $5.00 Center students get in free with Student ID Elementary or Middle school must be accompanied by parent or guardian Center staff are free with ID Season pass is $50 for admission to all fall sports Each Season will have a pass. Note that MSHSAA run playoff games are not included in the Season Pass. If you plan to attend multiple sports during the fall, the Season Pass is a great deal. $50 for admission to all fall sporting events. Center welcomed back over 400 staff members at Convocation 2023. Staff worked with their building to learn a new cheer, had a great breakfast, enjoyed music from Big Time Entertainment, recognized outstanding staff, and heard wisdom from our leaders!

The Center School District is excited to announce a new member of our leadership team as we welcome Dr. Amy Casey who joins Center as the Assistant Superintendent of Accelerated Learning. Dr. Casey is a long-time educator in the Kansas City area. She started her career as an Elementary Music teacher in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Casey also served students in St. Joseph and North Kansas City, Missouri teaching music and 5th grade. She spent 18 years as an administrator In North Kansas City holding Assistant Principal and Principal positions at three different schools. Areas of expertise include PBIS, MTSS, and Professional Learning Communities. Dr. Casey has also been extensively involved in equity work, both in district leadership roles and as an internal trainer for the North Kansas City schools. Dr. Casey shares that “I am thrilled to be a part of the Center family! I look forward to serving our community through heartfelt connections, high-quality and real-world learning experiences for all, always keeping our students at the heart of our mission.” The Center School District is also proud to announce that Ms. Megan Fisher has accepted a new assignment as the Coordinator of Accelerated Learning. Ms. Fisher has been with Center for 4 years and is excited to move into this important role. Ms. Fisher started her education career teaching elementary students in the Raytown School District. She became part of the staff at Center Elementary in 2019 and has served as a 5th Grade Teacher and Teacher Leader. She has served the past two years as an Instructional Coach at Indian Creek Elementary. She has extensive experience in data analysis, curriculum design, instructional coaching, and student assessment. Ms. Fisher shares, “I am excited to continue to serve Center School District students and staff as the Coordinator of Accelerated Learning. I am looking forward to partnering with each of you to ensure student success.” Please join us in congratulating Dr. Casey and Ms. Fisher in their new positions supporting student learning!
