An election was held this past Tuesday to elect two new members of the Center School District Board of Education. Congratulations to Mariah Roady and Michael Sarver who were the top two candidates in the final results. Thanks also to Da'Jion Lymore who ran a good campaign - we look forward to working with Da'Jion as he continues to be a leader in our community. Thanks also to Katie Ramel and Bryce Shields who will be leaving the Board. Both have devoted many hours serving our community and we thank them for their service. The new Board members will be sworn in at the annual Board Reorganization meeting on Monday, April 8th at 6pm. The meeting will be held at Indian Creek Elementary at 9801 Grand. Following that short meeting for the old Board, the new Board will convene for a second short meeting to elect their new officers. Finally, after the second meeting there will be a reception to welcome the new Board members and thank the retiring members. Black Excellence Through the Ages. Presented last night by the students of the Black Student Union at Center High School. An amazing performance. Created, directed, and performed 100% by students. They spoke from the mind and they spoke from the heart. They talked of pride and they talked of struggle. They celebrated excellence and they called for equity. They sang, they danced, they drummed. They performed as a family. Enjoy the photos. Video and more stories to come.
