Lacy Hubbard, a paraprofessional at the Yellowjacket Early Learning Center (YELC), is the January Hive Society Employee of the Month for the Center School District. She exemplifies the Core Value of Lifetime, community and family centric relationships.
Lacy has prioritized the wellness and mental health of our whole YELC community. Last year, Lacy established a YELC Yoga club, and she leads yoga at our school every Wednesday afternoon at the end of our workday. This year Lacy has initiated a 'Staying Hydrated' YELC Water Bottle challenge and is currently corralling YELC staff to attend CSD Yoga Tuesdays. Lacy has also taken on the leadership of YELC's Culture Committee. In this capacity, Lacy works collaboratively with colleagues to lift our YELC community. Lacy often states that we need to 'refill our cups' so that we can care for the needs of our littles at YELC to ensure their learning and growth. Lacy often asks me, "Mary, I hope you are taking some time for yourself." Lacy is truly a caring, collaborative staff member.
Thank you for your work, Lacy, and congratulations on winning this award!

Center celebrated District Night at the High School basketball game on Wednesday evening. In addition to two girls and two boys basketball games, the All-District pep band (CHS & CMS) performed during both games. The All-District Cheerleading team (CHS, CMS, and the “mini” cheerleaders from all four elementary schools) performed at halftime of the boys game. Of course, lots of family members, alumni, and community members came to watch. The positive energy in the building was tangible. Click below to see (and listen to) a video of the combined bands.
