Crow's Coffee

The journey to create a community table for Crow's Coffee at Red Bridge Shopping Center began nearly a year ago with a casual conversation with Zach Moores, the owner of Crow's. It culminated this morning as the students in the 5th Hour Advanced Woodshop class delivered a 12 foot long table to the outdoor patio.

The students began their work in October last fall, meeting with Zach to discuss his design goals, budget, and other project requirements. Since that time, they have worked diligently designing and building a table that would fit on the patio, create community interaction opportunities for Crow's customers, and withstand the elements in an outdoor setting.

Work on the table began in earnest in November and the students worked closely with Zach on project changes based on challenges they encountered as they worked.

The finished product was delivered today. After reassembling the legs (and the very unique crossbeam), the table was lifted into place to the delight of the students, Zach, the media, and a crowd of Crow's customers!

Was Zach happy with the results? He and teacher Alec Chambers are already thinking about the next project!

Congrats to the students on a project done very well and delivered to a very happy client!

We are Center Yellowjackets, and together, we can do hard things!
